Sickboy: Major London Show - 'Stay Free'

copyright andrepenteado.com

Sickboy has taken Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as the unofficial (royalty free) theme of his latest show. The expo will feature a 14ft 'fairytale inspired' purpose built house, his Stay Free Factory installation - which will be bequeathed to one guest. 1000 golden keys will be released during the show, and the person whose key fits the lock will become the new owner of the factory.

Organised entirely by his own team and free from corporate sponsorship, Sickboy, like every other 'outsider' artist these days, felt it neccesary to make a publicity stunt... I mean make a socio-political statement! This he did by plonking a giant steel cage containing a heart shaped helium balloon on the millenium bridge in front of the Tate Modern - a protestation at the corporate sponsorship of the recent street art expo that was held there. However, I hear the real reason for this corporate bullying is that Tiger beer are refusing to provide the bevvies for the opening night after feeling the pinch from the credit crunch!

The Stay Free exhibition launches on December 3 from 18:30 to 22:00, and is open to the general public from December 4-10, 2008 between 12:00-18:00. The venue is at The Tramshed, 6-8 Garden Walk, Shoreditch, London, EC2A 3EQ (nearest Tube station is Old St). Visit thesickboy.com to request an invitation to the opening.

Sickboy Exhibition & Grand Opening of Frisson Gallery: Wednesday 4th July, 2007, 6.00pm - 9.00pm

Sickboy Exhibition & Grand Opening of Frisson Gallery

"Originally from northern england and now re-patriated to Bristol, Sickboy has left no bin unturned in his quest to get his name about. He does this by never actually writing his name about but painting intricate arabian temples in the colours of Mcdonalds on skips and doorways. a strategy so blindingly obvious it's amazing no-one has done it before." - www.picturesonwalls.com.

Join us at the Orange St Music Club afterwards for the Summer of Jazz festival and see Smile, the gypsy jazz quartet, offering a fresh perspective on the music of Django Reinhardt's Hot Club de France.

Please don't call us we're avant garde - that's so hackneyed. If you like what you see contact us thus:

It is the Kid's aim to see this profile raised again and to pull local artists and people of similar interests together.. Commercial Kid are anything but a commercial organisation.

SNUB23 does MTV Pimp My Ride

We hooked up SNUB23 from Brighton with MTV Pimp My Ride recently for a Pimp My (Police) Riot Van Special. Not our idea of fun - to have to spend time in an enclosed space with Westwood - but all the same a great oppurtunity, and one that SNUB made the most of.

Check out some of SNUB's pictures on our Flickr of him getting busy at the North-West London garage where the filming took place and take some time to visit SNUB23's own website, snub23.com, to see more of his art and read his graffiti related ramblings.

The show is being shown on Sky TV on 30 November 2008 - today!

If you are in need of an artist or would like some advice regarding a commission please get in touch and we will do our best to help facilitate your vision.
